Nursery: More on the ‘Three Little Pigs’

Nursery: More on the ‘Three Little Pigs’

This week we have carried out more work on this fantastic fairy tale. We have built houses from bricks and made collages using different materials. We have danced like little pigs and huffed and puffed like big, bad wolves and are becoming really familiar with the structure of the story.

Nursery – Happy New Year 2018 !

We enjoyed welcoming back our Nursery children this week. They were all really enthusiastic and happy to be back and launched themselves into our Fairy Tales Topic. This week we started work on the Story of ‘The Three Little Pigs’ and the children have had a lot of fun with the puppets and masks. They have played the part of a wolf or a pig and have been learning the refrains from the story. Parents, why not take your child to the library and borrow a copy of the book to read to your child if you don’t already have a copy at home. The children have also been fascinated by the ice outside and have enjoyed looking at and handling the ice. We will be doing more work on ‘The Three Little Pigs’ next week.

Nursery: Room on the Broom

Nursery: Room on the Broom

We have had a fun and spooky week in Nursery this week. Our ‘book of the week’ has been ‘Room on The Broom’ which is a fantastic rhyming book. We have been making rhyming ‘silly soup’ and practising rhyming words which is something the children can practise at home as this is a great pre-reading skill. We also got to pay a visit to the ‘Book Bus’ this week.
