This week we have carried out more work on this fantastic fairy tale. We have built houses from bricks and made collages using different materials. We have danced like little pigs and huffed and puffed like big, bad wolves and are becoming really familiar with the structure of the story.
We enjoyed welcoming back our Nursery children this week. They were all really enthusiastic and happy to be back and launched themselves into our Fairy Tales Topic. This week we started work on the Story of ‘The Three Little Pigs’ and the children have had a lot of fun with the puppets and masks. They have played the part of a wolf or a pig and have been learning the refrains from the story. Parents, why not take your child to the library and borrow a copy of the book to read to your child if you don’t already have a copy at home. The children have also been fascinated by the ice outside and have enjoyed looking at and handling the ice. We will be doing more work on ‘The Three Little Pigs’ next week.
All the Nursery staff would like to say a very big “well done” to all our children for all their hard work in what is the trickiest half term of the school year. The children have had lots of new experiences: a new setting, new teachers, new friends and new routines. They have coped well and this term we’ve had a few birthdays, getting used to wearing school uniform and have had to learn to cope with long days and coughs and colds and other things !! Here are a few more photographs of some of the things we have done in Nursery in the Autumn term.
This week in Nursery we have been noticing seasonal changes and thinking about Autumn. We have made models of hedgehogs and Autumn tree pictures. We have welcomed a lovely new boy and a lovely new girl and have celebrated more Birthdays this week.
